Selexipag-d8 is a synthetic peptide that has been designed to act as a selective ligand for the prostacyclin receptor. It binds to the receptor with high affinity and specificity and inhibits the binding of both PGI2 and thromboxane A2, thereby preventing platelet aggregation. Selexipag-d8 has been shown to have minimal effects on other receptors including the thromboxane A2 receptor, angiotensin II, bradykinin, or histamine receptors. The protein interactions of this peptide are not yet known.
