    2-Amino-6,6'-bis(tert-butyl)bipyridine is a ligand that is used in asymmetric synthesis. It has been shown to be a good chiral ligand for the desymmetrization of hexanes. The enantioselective method is an alternative to the more common preparative methods because it allows for the separation of racemic mixtures into their respective enantiomers. 2-Amino-6,6'-bis(tert-butyl)bipyridine can also be used as a biomolecular probe in enzyme studies or structural analysis.br>br> strong>"2-Amino-6,6'-bis(tert-butyl)bipyridine"/strong> is soluble in organic solvents and insoluble in water.
