Description :
L'hydroxyde de potassium (KOH), également connu sous le nom de potasse caustique, est un composé alcalin fort caractérisé par sa forme solide et blanche, qui est hautement soluble dans l'eau, entraînant une réaction exothermique. Il est hygroscopique, ce qui signifie qu'il peut absorber l'humidité de l'air, et il se dissocie facilement dans des solutions aqueuses pour libérer des ions potassium (K⁺) et des ions hydroxyde (OH⁻).
