    <p>1-Ethyl-1H-indole-3-carboxylic acid is a synthetic moiety that has been shown to have antifungal activity. This compound is synthesized by the reaction of 1,2-dihydrobenzene with ethyl acetoacetate and can be used in biological assays and bioassays. 1-Ethyl-1H-indole-3-carboxylic acid has been shown to be an efficient antifungal agent with a broad spectrum of activity against various strains of fungi. This compound binds to ergosterol in the fungal cell membrane, which causes leakage of cellular contents and cell death. 1-Ethyl-1H-indole-3-carboxylic acid also has shown some biological activity, but it is not known if the compound affects any particular protein or enzyme.</p>
