CAS :<p>(1-tert-Butylcyclopropyl)amine hydrochloride is a ciprofloxacin analog that inhibits the growth of bacteria by binding to the enzyme DNA gyrase. It also prevents the cleavage of RNA and protein synthesis which blocks the production of new cells in bacterial colonies. The drug has a broad spectrum of activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The drug has been shown to be effective against isolates resistant to ciprofloxacin, such as Enterobacteriaceae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii, and Klebsiella pneumoniae. <br>(1-tert-Butylcyclopropyl)amine hydrochloride binds to microtubules and disrupts the cell division process during mitosis.
