    <p>6-Bromo-7-fluoroindoline-2,3-dione (6BFID) is a fluorinated polycarbonate polymer that has a high efficiency in solar cells. It has been studied as a spacer material for copolymers and as an additive in the production of polymers. 6BFID is also a promising candidate for the production of thin film solar cells. The chemical structure of this molecule can be modified to optimize its properties, such as isoindigo molecules which have shown high absorption in the near infrared range. The microstructure of 6BFID polymers can be optimized by adding thiophene molecules to the polymer backbone.</p>
