OTS514 is a peptide that binds to the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) and inhibits its function. It has been shown to inhibit the binding of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) to nAChRs and reduce AChE-mediated hydrolysis of acetylcholine, thereby inhibiting synaptic transmission. OTS514 has also been shown to activate voltage-gated sodium channels, leading to increased membrane depolarization and action potentials.
