Description :
Alumine, chimiquement connu sous le nom d'oxyde d'aluminium, est une poudre blanche et inodore avec la formule Al₂O₃. C'est un composant clé dans diverses applications industrielles, principalement en raison de sa dureté et de sa stabilité thermique. Alumine présente d'excellentes propriétés d'isolation électrique et est chimiquement inerte, ce qui le rend résistant à la corrosion et à la dégradation dans des environnements difficiles. Il a un point de fusion élevé, ce qui contribue à son utilisation dans des matériaux réfractaires. En plus de ses applications structurelles, Alumine est également utilisé comme abrasif et dans la production de métal d'aluminium par le processus Bayer. La substance existe sous plusieurs formes cristallines, y compris alpha (α-Al₂O₃) et gamma (γ-Al₂O₃), chacune ayant des propriétés et des usages distincts.
