CAS :<p>2'-Cyano-2'-deoxy-1-(b-D-arabinofuranosyl)cytosine is an analog of the natural substrate for DNA cytosine methyltransferase, 5-methylcytosine. 2'-Cyano-2'-deoxy-1-(b-D-arabinofuranosyl)cytosine inhibits the enzyme activity of DNA methyltransferase and blocks cell proliferation. It has been shown to be a potent antitumor agent in experimental models and may serve as a potential biomarker for cancer treatment. The drug is an oral prodrug that is activated by deamination in the liver and kidneys to release the active form, 5'-Azacytidine monophosphate (5'AZA).
