3-Methylsulfonylamino-1-methyl-4(1H)-quinolone is a cardiac stimulant that increases the force of contraction of the heart by binding to and activating cardiac L type voltage sensitive calcium channels. It has been shown to increase the rate and contractility of atria and ventricles, as well as increasing blood pressure. 3-Methylsulfonylamino-1-methyl-4(1H)-quinolone has also been shown to have cellular electrophysiological properties in cardiac muscle cells. This drug is orally active and has a half life of 10 hours.
