It is clinically relevant for the treatment of cancer, as it has been shown to induce apoptosis in prostate cancer cells and inhibit the proliferation of du145 cells. 3-[(2E)-3-(4-Methoxyphenyl)prop-2-enoyl]-4-phenyl-1,2-dihydroquinolin-2-one is also able to induce apoptosis in vivo using a mouse model. This molecule may be effective against other types of cancer such as breast cancer and leukemia.
