CAS :Oseltamivir is an antiviral drug that prevents the replication of influenza viruses in the body. It is a prodrug, which means it must be converted to its active form in vivo by hydrolysis. Oseltamivir is metabolized to oseltamivir acid by the enzyme amidase, which is found in the gastrointestinal tract. Oseltamivir acid inhibits the neuraminidase enzyme, which allows viral particles to attach to and invade cells.
