CAS :4'-Hydroxyphenyl carvedilol is a metabolite of carvedilol, which is an inhibitor of the enzyme catechol-O-methyltransferase. 4'-hydroxyphenyl carvedilol has been found to be active against human serum and rat liver microsomes. It has been shown to have a matrix effect on metabolic rate and analytical method. The stereoselective metabolism of 4'-hydroxyphenyl carvedilol occurs in femoral vein and spectrometer samples. This compound also inhibits the activity of matrix enzymes such as diazepam and other enzyme inhibitors, thereby increasing the bioavailability of drugs that are substrates for these enzymes.
