It has been shown to bind to β-amino acid and organic molecules in human serum, as well as in other biological fluids. Chloro(triphenylphosphine)gold(I) has been shown to have apoptotic properties and can be used for the treatment of cancer cells. It has also been shown to be useful for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and Huntington's disease.
