FRAX1036 is a new molecule which inhibits the cancer-promoting activity of epidermal growth factor (EGF). FRAX1036 was shown to block the signaling pathways downstream of EGFR, including MAPK and β-catenin. This drug also synergistically inhibited tumor growth in mice with xenografts of human prostate cancer cells. FRAX1036 has been shown to be effective when combined with taxane treatment, which is an anticancer drug that inhibits the cell division cycle by blocking microtubule assembly.
