CAS :Produit contrôléZirconium hydroxide is a white crystalline solid that is prepared by the reaction of sodium carbonate with zirconium oxide. Zirconium hydroxide is used as an analytical reagent in the analysis of metal ions, such as zinc and lead, due to its ability to form insoluble complexes with these ions. Zirconium hydroxide can also be used for the preparation of other compounds, such as zirconia, which is a ceramic material. The structure of zirconium hydroxide consists of an octahedral core surrounded by six water molecules in a cubic arrangement. Hydroxyl groups are attached to each oxygen atom on the octahedral core. This water-soluble compound reacts with reactive metals, such as sodium nitrate and silver nitrate, to form insoluble compounds. Zirconium hydroxide can also react with hydrogen peroxide and ammonia to yield zirconia and hydrogen gas respectively. The
