The compound has been shown to inhibit DNA, RNA, and protein synthesis in vitro, as well as to induce apoptosis in human cancer cell lines. 2'-Deoxy-5'-O-DMT-5-acetoxymethyluridine 3'-CE phosphoramidite is a modified nucleoside that can be used in the production of oligonucleotides for use in gene therapy.
