TAT-Gap19 is a peptide that has been shown to reduce inflammation and microbial infection in animal models. TAT-Gap19 is an extracellular soluble protein that can enter the cell by endocytosis and activate microglial cells. It also has the ability to inhibit the uptake of fatty acids, which are important for inflammatory responses. TAT-Gap19 can be used as a therapeutic agent for chronic liver injury, osmotic pump, or hypothalamic neurons. TAT-Gap19 also has been shown to inhibit dopamine release from dopaminergic neurons in mice with Parkinson's disease.
