    CAS :
    <p>BQR 695 is a small molecule drug candidate that inhibits the production of DNA and RNA by binding to the viral enzyme, reverse transcriptase. BQR 695 has been shown to have a high degree of selectivity for cancer cells with little or no activity against normal cells. It has also been shown to act as an immunosuppressant by inhibiting T cell activation in mice. The molecular mechanism of this drug is not well understood but it is thought that BQR 695 interacts with the cellular protein, bcl-2, which regulates apoptosis.</p>
