This drug has been shown to have anti-Parkinsonian effects, which are related to its ability to inhibit glutamate release. PF-06297470 also inhibits the binding of glutamate to mGluR1 receptors, thereby inhibiting the activation of these receptors and reducing the transmission of excitatory signals in the brain.
