Methyl 2-isopropyloxazole-4-carboxylate has been shown to increase the efficiency of ligands, which are drugs that bind to proteins and alter their function. This drug has also been shown to lower levels of estrogens and progesterone in monkeys. The correlation between serum estradiol levels and tumor growth has also been studied in these animals. Methyl 2-isopropyloxazole-4-carboxylate could potentially be used therapeutically against hormone receptor positive cancers such as breast cancer, prostate cancer, or ovarian cancer.
