CAS :Produit contrôléParamethasone acetate is a corticosteroid that is used to treat inflammatory bowel disease, alopecia areata, and hematopoietic cells. It inhibits the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines by binding to glucocorticoid receptors in the cytosol. This inhibitory effect leads to decreased inflammation. Paramethasone acetate also has anti-inflammatory effects on inflammatory diseases such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. The drug can be administered orally or topically. Oral administration is preferred due to less side effects and better absorption through the digestive tract. Topical administration should be avoided with children under 2 years of age because it may cause benzalkonium chloride toxicity, which can lead to erythema and skin irritation at the site of application. In addition, paramethasone acetate has been shown to have a positive effect on women with alopecia areata by stimulating hair growth in some individuals
