It blocks NGF binding to its receptor, preventing NGF from activating the receptor and transmitting signals that stimulate cellular proliferation. 3MPAB has been shown to inhibit the activation of potassium channels by Ligand. It may also have an effect on calcium channels, as well as other ion channels, due to its ability to bind to various sites on protein surfaces.
