N-Methyl-O-methyl-L-tyrosine hydrochloride (NMT) is an organic compound that is synthesized from D-alanine. It has been shown to inhibit the production of didemnin, a protein that regulates the cell cycle, in mcf-7 cells. NMT has also been shown to stop the growth of human breast cancer cells and increase the lifespan of mice with cancerous tumors. NMT is a macrocyclic molecule, which means it has a ring structure made up of at least six atoms. The conformation of this molecule may be cyclic or linear.
