It has been shown to inhibit the nuclear factor kappa-light-chain enhancer (NFκB) pathway, which is involved in the regulation of cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. 3-Hydroxymandelic acid also inhibits energy metabolism by reducing mitochondrial respiration.
