2'-Deoxy-6N-DMF-5'-O-DMT-adenosine is a novel antiviral agent that is activated by phosphoramidites and has high quality, high purity, and good stability. It has been shown to inhibit the replication of DNA by binding to the 3' hydroxyl group of deoxyribonucleotides. 2'-Deoxy-6N-DMF-5'-O-DMT-adenosine also inhibits the synthesis of RNA by binding to nucleoside monophosphates. This compound is synthesized in a modified form as an analog of adenosine and has been shown to be active against herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV1).
