1-butyl-3-méthylimidazolium bis(trifluorométhylsulfonyl)imide, communément appelé [BMIM][Tf2N], est un liquide ionique caractérisé par sa faible volatilité, sa haute stabilité thermique et d'excellentes propriétés de solvatation. Il présente un groupe butyle et un groupe méthyle attachés au cation imidazolium, contribuant à ses propriétés uniques.
