CAS :Produit contrôléEthyl methylphosphonate is a chemical with the molecular formula CH 3 OP(OCH 2 CH 3 ) and is an ester of methylphosphonic acid. It is used in organic synthesis as a reagent for the introduction of the ethyl group into alkenes. This compound has been shown to inhibit the activity of fatty acid synthase, which is an enzyme that catalyzes the synthesis of fatty acids from acetyl-CoA and malonyl-CoA. The LC-MS/MS method has been developed for analysis of ethyl methylphosphonate in human serum and plasma samples. The detection sensitivity was found to be 0.5 ng/mL with a limit of quantitation at 1 ng/mL, while the limit of detection was 3 ng/mL. Regression analysis data showed that ethyl methylphosphonate concentration in human serum increases linearly with time after exposure, while kinetic data showed that it takes 5 minutes for 50%
