It has high resistance to water vapor and reactive sites that are amine-containing. Tetrakis(dimethylamido)zirconium(IV) has been shown to be effective for the catalytic coupling of amides with dialkylamino groups using palladium as a catalyst. X-ray crystal structures have been obtained for this compound to provide structural analysis and confirmation of the existence of nitrogen atoms.
