N-(3-Bromophenyl)-6,7-bis(2-methoxyethoxy)quinazolin-4-amine HCl has been shown to activate the caspase cascade and increase apoptosis, which may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis by preventing the phosphorylation of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2α (eIF2α).
