CAS :
2-Phenylmethylidenecyclobutan-1-one is a cyclic ketone that can be synthesised by thermal rearrangement of the enolate anion of 2,2-dimethylcyclopropane carboxylic acid. The thermally induced isomerisation is reversible and the equilibrium lies in favour of the starting material. This compound has an optical isomerism, with one form (enantiomer) being chiral and the other not. The suprafacial enolate anion reacts with electrophiles at the carbonyl carbon to form a 1,2-didehydrobenzene or a 1,4-didehydrobenzene.
The compound also undergoes a series of stereochemical changes when it reacts with nucleophiles such as methanol or water, forming dimers in which two molecules are linked by an oxygen bridge.
Formule :C11H10ODegré de pureté :Min. 95%Masse moléculaire :158.2 g/mol
