IACS-8968 is an imidazole derivative that inhibits the enzyme IDO (indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase) and kynurenine hydroxylase, which are enzymes involved in the metabolism of tryptophan. This leads to a decrease in the production of kynurenine, which has been shown to have anticancer effects. IACS-8968 can also be used as a chemical inhibitor with other anticancer drugs such as monoclonal antibody or cytotoxic drugs. IACS-8968 has synergistic anticancer properties when combined with other agents.
