    <p>CU-CPT9a is an indole alkaloid that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, antiretroviral, and antibacterial activities. This compound is also a Toll-like receptor ligand. The structural biology of CU-CPT9a has been elucidated by X-ray crystallography and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. In addition, CU-CPT9a induces apoptosis in leukemia cells and alters the g1 phase of the cell cycle. This compound also inhibits the growth of bacteria such as Alteromonas.
