CAS :Penoxsulam is an herbicide that inhibits the enzyme amino transferase, which is responsible for the synthesis of proteins in plants. It binds to the active site of this enzyme, thereby blocking amino acid transfer and preventing protein synthesis. Penoxsulam has been shown to have a low chronic toxicity in rats at high doses and may not accumulate in tissues. Penoxsulam can be measured by plasma mass spectrometry after laser ablation of blood samples. The analytical method is described as constant pressure water vapor multicenter phase titration calorimetry with boron nitride magnetic particles and sodium carbonate as reactants.
