SBI-797812 is a small molecule that targets the cellular protein, stabilin-1. It has been shown to suppress the degradation of stabilin-1 and stabilize it in cells from animals and humans. When this drug binds to stabilin-1, it prevents the binding of destabilizing molecules and increases the stability of stabilin-1. This drug also has been shown to boost levels of stabilin-1 in tissues from mice by increasing the biosynthesis of mononucleotides.
