The drug has been shown to improve the function of the papillary muscle and increase the body mass index in these patients. Multivariate logistic regression analysis has shown that IV-23 treatment is associated with increased survival rates for children with congestive heart failure. This treatment also has been shown to reduce the risk of death from infectious diseases in patients who are at risk for such occurrences.
