It can be used in the treatment of autoimmune diseases, cancer, and hyperproliferative diseases. MRCC is not effective against acute lymphoblastic leukemia or myelodysplastic syndrome. MRCC has been shown to have therapeutic effects on skin cancer cells in tissue culture by inhibiting their proliferation. The mechanism of action may be due to its ability to inhibit protein kinase C activity.
