CAS :Methyl 2-(bromomethyl)benzoate (MBB) is a halogenated aromatic compound that inhibits the activity of DPP-4 and nitric oxide synthase. MBB has been shown to have anticancer potential by inhibiting translation and synthesis of proteins in cancer cells. It also inhibits the growth of MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells, which is mediated by its interaction with mTORC1. MBB interacts with the sodium hydrogen exchanger in k562 cells, leading to an inhibitory effect on cellular respiration. This process is mediated by inhibition of DPP-4 activity, resulting in decreased levels of cyclic AMP and inhibition of protein synthesis.
