Bobcat339 hydrochloride is a novel, potent, and selective inhibitor of Kv1.3 channels. It blocks the activation of these channels by potassium ions in a voltage-dependent manner. Bobcat339 hydrochloride is useful as a research tool to study the function of Kv1.3 channels and their interactions with other proteins such as ion channels and receptors. In addition, it can be used to study the role of Kv1.3 channels in diseases such as neuropathic pain and seizure disorders. Bobcat339 hydrochloride does not inhibit other types of potassium ion channels such as those found in skeletal muscle cells or those that are activated by calcium ions.
