Impurity of teriparatide produced during the chemical synthesis and a potential metabolite. The N-terminally truncated sequence showed a reduced potency in stimulating bone formation. Like pTH (1-34), pTH (2-34) decreased coronary perfusion pressure in isolated rat hearts but in contrast to pTH (1-34) it had no effect on heart rate.
