The reaction mechanism of 4-(Bromomethyl)biphenyl involves an alkoxycarbonyl group that reacts with an electron-deficient aromatic ring and the bromide ion (Br-) to produce the final product. The nmr spectra of this compound show the presence of hydrophilic compounds. 4-(Bromomethyl)biphenyl can be detected by liquid chromatography.
