Chlorhydrate de 1-éthyl-3-(3'-diméthylaminopropyl)carbodiimide, communément appelé EDC, est un carbodiimide soluble dans l'eau utilisé principalement comme agent de couplage dans la synthèse peptidique et d'autres applications impliquant la formation de liaisons amides. Il facilite l'activation des acides carboxyliques, leur permettant de réagir avec des amines pour former des liaisons amides stables. L'EDC se caractérise par sa capacité à promouvoir des réactions dans des conditions douces, ce qui le rend adapté aux biomolécules sensibles.
