CAS :<p>Myo-inositol 1,2,3,5,6-pentakisphosphate (IP5) is a naturally occurring molecule that has been shown to have anti-viral properties. It inhibits the influenza virus by preventing the release of viral particles and may also inhibit other viruses. IP5 also has anti-cancer activity in colorectal carcinoma cells by inhibiting estrogen receptor modulators and v600e mutations. Myo-inositol 1,2,3,5,6-pentakisphosphate binds to the enzyme protein kinase C which prevents its activation and subsequently prevents the phosphorylation of certain proteins.
