The chemical compound has been shown to be therapeutically effective in autoimmune diseases, such as multiple sclerosis, lupus erythematosus, and rheumatoid arthritis. 1-(1-Adamantyl)ethanol has been shown to inhibit the production of proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines that are associated with these diseases.
