CAS :3,4-Dimethylpyrazole (3,4-DMPA) is an inhibitor of fatty acid uptake that has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria in nutrient solutions. It is also a potent inhibitor of nitrification, with an IC50 value of 0.5 mM and a synergistic effect with nitrogen. 3,4-DMPA phosphate has been proposed as a potential biomarker for nitrification and it is known to interact with other compounds such as nitrous oxide emissions.
