Combretastatin A-1 Phosphate is a peptide inhibitor that binds to the receptor of protein kinase C and inhibits its activity. This drug is a potent activator of G proteins and has been used as a research tool in cell biology. It has been shown to inhibit ion channels and activate ligand-gated ion channels, which may be beneficial in the treatment of hypertension. Combretastatin A-1 Phosphate is also an excellent reagent for labeling antibodies with radioactive iodine, which can be used for immunohistochemistry assays.
