D-Allono-1,4-lactone is a biochemical compound that has been shown to have immunosuppressant properties. D-Allono-1,4-lactone is an inhibitor of maltase, an enzyme involved in the digestion of starch and glycogen. D-Allono-1,4-lactone also inhibits transglucosylase, an enzyme involved in the conversion of sucrose into glucose. It binds to sulfur transfer proteins and has been shown to be effective against mutants with altered biochemical properties.
