CAS :2-Chloro-5-fluoropyridine is a chlorinated pyridine that is used as an efficient method to introduce the chlorine atom. It has been shown to be cytotoxic against cancer cell lines, including epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and factor receptor (PDGFR). 2-Chloro-5-fluoropyridine has been found to inhibit kinase domain activation of EGFR and PDGFR, which inhibits the phosphorylation of these receptors. This inhibition leads to decreased cellular proliferation. 2-Chloro-5-fluoropyridine has also been shown to be cytotoxic in vitro against a549 cells and lapatinib sensitive A2780 cells, with IC50 values of 0.3 μM and 1.2 μM respectively. These pharmacokinetic properties have been shown to be due to its chloride ions, which are responsible for its uptake by cells in culture.br>br
