This compound is not water soluble and requires an organic solvent to dissolve it. It has been shown that the use of 1HFAFMS can reduce the amount of phosphates in packaging materials by up to 50%. 1HFAFMS also has been found to be safe for humans and does not accumulate in the environment. It does not bioaccumulate and is rapidly excreted through urine.
