2-[(Furan-2-carbonyl)-amino]-4,5-dimethoxy-benzoic acid is a potent and specific inhibitor of the human angiotensin II type 1 receptor. It has been shown to inhibit angiotensin II-induced vasoconstriction in rat arteries. 2-[(Furan-2-carbonyl)-amino]-4,5-dimethoxy-benzoic acid is also an activator of the human angiotensin II type 2 receptor. This peptide may be useful in research on peptide receptors and ion channels as well as for pharmacological studies on cardiovascular system disorders.
